Water Heater Replacement: Terms And Conditions
These Terms and Conditions govern the replacement of your water storage heater. By allowing our technicians to enter your premises and commence work, or by confirming your agreement through any form of communication, including telephone or WhatsApp, you acknowledge and consent to be bound by the provisions outlined herein. It is essential that you read and understand these terms thoroughly before giving your consent.
a) Homeone will replace the existing water storage heater with a new unit which may or may not necessarily be of similar specifications and capacity.
b) The customer is to agree to provide clear access to the water heater location and any necessary utilities required for the replacement.
c) Any additional work required beyond the standard replacement, such as electrical modifications or plumbing adjustments, will be communicated to the customer, and additional charges may apply. Below is the standard replacement.
d) Hydraulic connection and tank mounting (plumbing works)
i) The supply of all fittings, tools, and safety equipment.
ii) The works will be supervised by a PUB Licensed Plumber off site.
iii) The replacement and reinstallation of the current hot and cold-water connecting pipes to the water heater will be conducted, and the length of these new pipes will not exceed 1 meter.
iv) No additional charges will be incurred for connecting to specific existing materials such as copper, stainless steel, and PPR (Polypropylene Random Copolymer)v) A surcharge of $150 will be levied in cases where the current pipe system comprises German PEX pipe or the Japanese Mechfit system or any other pipe systems not specified in iv.
vi) The removal of the old tank and disposal off-site
vii) A removal safety provision cost of $100 will apply if the existing tank has a capacity of 50 litres or more and is situated above the ceiling. Among others:

vii) A removal safety provision cost of $150 will apply for the following tanks that are situated above the ceiling. Among others:
- Rheem EH75M & EH100M
- Rheem EP20
- Rheem EHG100
- Rheem 81/85VP20S & 81/85VP30S
- Rheem/Daikin TUR-75KVM & TUR-100KVM
- Ariston Pro RS80, Titanium 80
- Ariston Pro R 80 & 100
viii) The removal of old wall/concrete anchors, where applicable, will be performed, but it’s important to note that patching up and painting are not included.
ix) Adding a new exposed drainpipe outlet for a missing drainpipe will incur an additional charge of $150, which includes running the pipe to a floor trap. This condition applies specifically to water heaters located above the ceiling.
x) The existing wall/concrete anchors may be utilized after assessment and confirmation of its safety. Our technicians will determine whether a new set should be installed based on their evaluation.
e) Electrical works
i) The supply of all parts, tools, and safety equipment.
ii) The works will be supervised by an EMA Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) off site.
iii) To inspect the condition of the heater switch, connection box, and the type of wires used and report the findings.
iv) The connection of the heater to the connection/junction box using 3×2.5 mm² wires is included, up to 2 metres, encased in flexible conduit.
v) Any electrical scope beyond the above is chargeable.
vi) The cost for a heater switch replacement is $50, connection box replacement is $70, and isolator replacement is $150.
vii) For additional electrical works, a customized quote will be provided based on the specific requirements to ensure compliance with the relevant electrical codes.
viii) In cases where the heater point is absent, the cost of installing a new heater point will start at $550. This comprehensive service includes the provision of a new two-pole 20A switch, a set of wiring in trunking, and a 20A MCB.
ix) For HDB installations exclusively, our service extends to the submission of the SPSL Form CS/5H, duly endorsed by HDB, to SP Services Ltd for the testing of the new wiring.
x) The heater power point should not be shared with other appliances primarily for safety, load management, and compliance with SS 638_2018 Code of Practice for Electrical Installations. This dedicated approach ensures the safe and proper functioning of the water heater, prevents overloading, and aligns with industry standards and regulations.
xi) Should there be any appliance(s) attached to the heater circuit, we will seek the owner’s permission to remove that appliance.
xii) If removal is not feasible, the owner is required to engage their own EMA LEW (Licensed Electrical Worker) and relinquish Homeone’s responsibility for the electrical scope. Homeone will exclusively handle plumbing works in this scenario.
a) Homeone undertake that the water service installation/work will be carried out in accordance with the Public Utilities Board’s requirements including the Public Utilities (Water Supply) Regulations, Singapore Standard SS 636 – Code of Practice for Water Services, Authorities’ requirements, and other statutory requirements.
b) Heater tanks are not located below sanitary pipes and other non-potable water pipes.
c) all the water fittings installed in the water service installation are of the types that comply with standards prescribed / stipulated by PUB.
d) no soldering is used for joining any water pipes/fittings.
e) only lead-free materials are used for capillary joints.
f) The storage heater tank installation and the associated electrical devices and equipment have been tested and are safe and acceptable for operation.
a) Prior to replacement, a site assessment may be conducted at a cost of $50 to evaluate the existing installation and identify any potential challenges.
a) The storage heater will be covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, and the customer is responsible for registering the warranty with the manufacturer.
b) Typically, all parts, excluding the tank, are covered under a 1-year warranty for both parts and labour, with on-site service. In the case of inner tank leakage, a 5-year warranty is provided, which includes a tank replacement without labour costs.
c) Homeone is not responsible for defects or issues arising from the manufacturer’s product. Owner is to call the manufacturer.
a) The customer agrees to pay the total agreed-upon amount for the water storage heater replacement service.
b) Payment is due upon completion of the replacement work.
c) Additional charges for unforeseen circumstances or additional work will be communicated to the customer, and payment for such charges is due immediately upon completion.
d) Any outstanding payments will incur an annual interest charge of 5% is charged for each day of the payment is overdue.
e) In addition, a $50 administrative fee will be applied for each reminder sent.
Cancellation Notice:
The Customer may cancel the water heater replacement service by providing written notice at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled service time. Such notice must be provided via email or other documented communication methods.
Late Cancellation Fee:
Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled service time will incur a cancellation fee of $50. This fee is to compensate for the loss of scheduling and opportunity costs.
Aborted Service Fee:
If the service is aborted after the technician has arrived on-site, a cancellation fee of $150 will be charged. This fee covers the costs associated with mobilisation and the time spent by the technician.
Non-Returnable Condition of Hardware:
Once the water heater has been removed from its original packaging, it is considered non-returnable and non-refundable, even if the installation has not yet commenced. This is because the hardware cannot be resold if the packaging has been compromised.
Change of Decision During or After Installation:
Should the Customer choose to halt the installation partway through or request dismantling after the completion of the installation, an additional fee will be charged. This fee will be equivalent to the cost of a full installation service, reflecting the labour and effort required for dismantling and decommissioning.
Payment Obligation:
The Customer remains liable for the full payment of the sales order, regardless of any cancellation or change of mind, as outlined in the terms and conditions of this agreement.
a) Homeone is not liable for any pre-existing issues with the Gas, plumbing or electrical systems that become apparent during the replacement process.
b) The customer is responsible for informing Homeone of any known issues with the existing installation before the commencement of work.
The customer agrees to indemnify and hold Homeone harmless from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from the water storage heater replacement service.
a) Administrative Fee: An administrative fee of $150 is applicable for the issuance of a servicing notice or for providing an updated statement if payment is not made within the same day upon completion of the service.
b) Interest on Overdue Payments: Interest on overdue payments will be charged at a rate of 5% per annum, computed on a daily basis, until full payment is received.
c) Costs of Legal Escalation: Any costs incurred through the legal escalation of outstanding amounts will be added to the total outstanding amount.
a) Any disputes arising from this agreement will be resolved through negotiations between the parties.
b) If a resolution cannot be reached through negotiations, the matter may be escalated to mediation or arbitration as agreed upon by both parties.
a) This agreement is governed by the laws of Singapore. Any legal action arising from this agreement shall be brought in the appropriate courts in Singapore.
b) By engaging in the water storage heater replacement service, the customer acknowledges and agrees to these terms and conditions.
Gas Heater Replacement: Terms And Conditions
Homeone will replace the existing gas instantaneous water heater with a new unit, which may or may not have similar specifications and capacity. The selection will be agreed upon before proceeding. The installation will comply with all statutory requirements, including but not limited to the Gas Supply Regulations for gas work, the Public Utilities Act for plumbing work, and the Electricity (Electrical Installations) Regulations for electrical connections. The customer must ensure clear access to the water heater location and provide any necessary utilities required for the replacement.
1) Supply of all fittings and tools.
2) Removal of the old union and gas valve.
3) Installation of a new gas valve.
4) A new union will not be installed as it is a common fitting that can cause gas leaks.
5) Work on the gas pipe is limited to within 1 metre of the gas heater.
6) If the new heater is positioned more than 200mm from its existing location, it will be considered a relocation, and an additional charge of S$150 will apply.
7) Any new section of gas pipe will be painted yellow.
8) All work will be remotely supervised by a Licensed Gas Service Worker (LGSW).
9) Testing of gas appliances will be conducted in accordance with Regulation 21 of the Gas (Supply) Regulations.
10) A certificate will be issued, certifying that the gas appliance is safe for use before the job is handed over.
11) Faults in gas pipework elsewhere on the premises, such as those involving the gas meter, cooking hob, or any gas pipes more than 1 metre away from the gas heater, are not covered under this scope of work.
1) Supply of all fittings and tools.
2) Removal of a section of the hot and cold water pipes connected to the gas heater, not exceeding 1 metre in length.
3) Installation of a new section of hot and cold water pipes using stainless steel, including a new brass stop valve. All work on the water pipes is limited to within 1 metre of the gas heater.
4) All work will be supervised remotely by a PUB Licensed Plumber, in accordance with the Public Utilities Act.
5) Faults in water pipework elsewhere on the premises, such as those involving the bath mixer, other water fittings, or any water pipes more than 1 metre away from the gas heater, are not covered under this scope of work.
6) No additional charges will be incurred for connecting to specific existing materials such as copper, stainless steel, and PPR (Polypropylene Random Copolymer).
7) A surcharge of S$150 will apply for pipe systems such as German PEX or the Japanese Mechfit system, or any other systems not specified above.
8) Removal of the old tank and disposal off-site.
9) Existing wall/concrete anchors may be reused after assessment and confirmation of their safety. Technicians will determine if a new set is required based on their evaluation.
10) Removal of old wall/concrete anchors will be carried out if applicable, but patching and painting are not included.
1) Provision of necessary safety equipment.
2) A safety provision surcharge of S$150 will apply if:
– There is no safety railing at the aircon ledge or other locations 3 metres above ground level where the gas heater is situated.
– A safety railing is present, but the gas heater replacement work cannot be performed while standing on the aircon ledge.
1) Supply of all parts, tools, and safety equipment.
2) All works will be remotely supervised by an EMA Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW).
3) Inspection of the control panel, communication cables, and connection box/isolator to ensure they are in working condition.
4) Connection of the heater to the isolator and control panel, replacing the old one as necessary.
5) Any electrical work beyond the above is chargeable.
6) The cost for a new isolator at the aircon ledge is S$150, and a new set of communication cables to replace a faulty set starts from S$250.
7) For additional electrical works, a customised quote will be provided to ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes.
8) Protective equipotential bonding will be installed in accordance with SS638:2018 clause 411.3.1.2L (ii) for gas installation pipes.
Installation Warranty:
Homeone offers a 1-year warranty on the installation work performed. This warranty covers workmanship and ensures that the replacement gas water heater is properly installed and functioning as intended.
Product Warranty:
The gas water heater is covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. The customer is responsible for registering the warranty with the manufacturer. Typically, all parts excluding the tank are covered under a 1-year warranty for both parts and labour with on-site service. In the case of inner tank leakage, a 5-year warranty is provided, which includes a tank replacement without labour costs.
Homeone is not responsible for defects or issues arising from the manufacturer’s product. The owner is to contact the manufacturer for any issues.
The customer agrees to pay the total agreed-upon amount for the water heater replacement service. Payment is due upon completion of the replacement work.
Additional charges for unforeseen circumstances or additional work will be communicated to the customer, and payment for such charges is due immediately upon completion.
Any outstanding payments will incur an annual interest charge of 5% for each day the payment is overdue. In addition, a $50 administrative fee will be applied for each reminder sent.
