The homeowner noticed a decline in air conditioner performance, with cooling efficiency diminishing shortly after a handyman performed a gas top-up. Concerned, they reached out to Homeone for assistance. According to the homeowner, the air conditioner's cooling capacity began to drop after 3 months of the gas top-up, leading us to suspect a potential gas leak in the system. We promptly conducted an on-site assessment for gas leak detection.
During the visit, our BCA-trained technician identified signs of a gas leak, including oil residues on the joints of the refrigerant pipes and the condenser unit (CU). The leak was traced to insufficient tightening of the joint by the handyman. After receiving the technician’s report, the Homeone office team explained the situation to the homeowner and proposed a solution: re-flaring and rejoining the refrigerant pipes to the condenser unit. The homeowner agreed to proceed, and the rejoining work was carried out in full compliance with safety standards by our BCA-trained air conditioning technician.
Conducted a thorough visual inspection and used a gas leak detector to identify any potential leaks in the air conditioning system.
Safely discharged all existing refrigerant from the system to ensure that no contaminated or old gas remained, preparing the system for a fresh charge.
Flared the refrigerant pipes to create a secure connection and expertly rejoined the pipes to the condenser unit, ensuring an airtight seal.
Performed vacuuming of the refrigerant lines to remove any dust, moisture, and residual refrigerant, ensuring the internal pipes were clean and free of contaminants.
Recharged the system with 2.2 kg of refrigerant, precisely measured according to the manufacturer’s specifications for the Fujitsu AOAG24LAT3 model.
Tested the air conditioning system post-repair, conducting a temperature analysis to verify optimal cooling performance and system efficiency.
Thoroughly cleaned the work area and ensured all connections were securely tightened, leaving the installation neat and the system functioning reliably.
