Reason for Service: The solar panels have experienced a significant loss of energy production due to an extended period without cleaning.
1. Preparation
Power Off: Ensure the air conditioning system is completely powered off to eliminate any electrical hazards during the cleaning process.
2. Applying Chemical Solution
Prepare Chemical Solution: A chemical cleaner with an initial pH of 13, based on sodium or potassium hydroxide, is prepared from a concentrate following the manufacturer’s instructions.
Spray Chemical Cleaner: Evenly spray the diluted alkaline solution over the panel component to effectively break down accumulated dirt, mold, and debris.
Dwell Time: Allow the chemical solution to sit for approximately 15 to 30 minutes, enabling it to penetrate and loosen all the grime.
3. Cleaning Process
Two Technicians Required: Due to the task’s complexity and safety requirements, two trained technicians are necessary to handle the equipment and cleaning process efficiently and safely.
Rinsing: Use a water jet to thoroughly rinse the panel, to ensure maximum removal of debris and chemical residue.
To avoid scratching or damaging the surface of the panels, we use a gentle water pressure setting.
